We’re hiring: Marketing & Communications Officer

The Saginaw Community Foundation is hiring a full-time Marketing & Communications Officer. Cover letters and resumes are due by Tuesday, Feb. 19 (note: due to the outgoing date of the next HAPPO Michigan Report, resumes will be accepted until Friday, Feb. 22. But, please send your application in before that date if possible). 

 


We’re seeking a creative professional with experience in public relations, marketing and some graphic design. The right candidate will be a highly motivated and self-driven individual with the ability to work on marketing projects with minimal direction and guidance.

 

As a communicator, this employee will develop strategies and tactics for communicating with a variety of audiences, including donors, grant seekers, scholarship applicants, volunteers and community members.

Specific duties include:

● Conception, copywriting, design and production of newsletters, annual reports, direct mail, postcards, presentations and other marketing collateral

● Copywriting, design and analysis of email marketing strategies (Vertical Response, Constant Contact)

● Manage and develop social media strategies (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, etc.)

● Manage website and blog through WordPress

● Manage media relations, including writing and distributing news releases and building relationships with local media

● Represent the foundation at events and meetings

● Help plan special events and activities

● Help oversee the Marketing & Asset Development Committee

 

 

Desired Skills & Experience

● Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations

● Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

● Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop

● Experience or ability to learn WordPress and basic HTML

● Strong verbal and written communications skills

● Ability to manage projects from conception through completion

● Skilled in project management and organization and able to keep track of multiple projects and audiences

● Detail-oriented and collaborative traits, “team player” attitude, flexibility and dedication necessary

● Experience in a nonprofit organization is a plus
