We’ve compiled this list of food distribution sites for students/children in Saginaw County. We will work to maintain this list with the most current information but would encourage anyone seeking assistance to contact the school district or organization directly with any questions or to check on availability.
The Saginaw Intermediate School District (SISD) is providing updates on its website as well. Click here for more information.

Frankenmuth Public Schools
The Frankenmuth School District will provide meals beginning Tuesday, March 17 to any students ages 18 and younger or up to 26 with a disability. We are offering two meals per day, three days per week. This includes the scheduled Spring Break week, so this program will run nine days total. Meals will be served from Frankenmuth High School and can be picked up at the concession stand by the football field.
Here is how it will work:
Parents will able to pull up in their cars behind the high school to the concession stand, and we will have a staff member ready to help. The staff will ask: “how many children are we feeding and do you want meals daily or weekly?” If the parent says: “I have three kids,” we will then give them enough meals for three days for each of the three children. That parent will receive 18 complete breakfasts and 18 complete lunches. They could take both breakfast and lunch at the same time – or daily.
We will be using a tally system to track numbers, and we do not need any names. Students do not have to attend the Frankenmuth School District as our goal is to feed children, no matter what school they attend. Meals are free to all students. No questions asked, no ID required, no proof of residency needed. Again, meals are free to all students.
We understand that parents still have to work and some students may not have a parent to bring them or to pick up their food. Students may walk or bike to pick-up their breakfast and lunch each day. We also have a few volunteers willing to drop off meals. If you are in need of this service, please email me at amartin@fmuthschools.com and add “Lunch” to the subject line.
Pick up times will be available Tuesday through Thursday, March 17-19, Tuesday through Thursday, March 24-26, and Tuesday through Thursday, March 31 – April 2, at the following times: 7:45 – 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to help us feed the children in our area. Though we are not able to educate our students over the next three weeks, we hope to be able to keep them fed and to take this burden off our families.
If you have questions regarding this program, please contact Cindy Hegenauer, Food Service Director, at chegenauer@fmuthschools.com.

Snack and supper will be served Monday-Friday from 3 – 6 pm at the Saginaw YMCA for the remainder of the school year.
Specifically, for the next three weeks, snacks and suppers will be served in a drive-thru style format in the North end of our parking lot from our Mission Nutrition Van.
For the next three weeks, the following guidelines will apply:
– Children do not need to be present to pick up meals
– Multiple meals can be picked up at once to reduce the burden of having to make trips out everyday
– All meals will be cold and kid-friendly while following the YMCA Healthy Living standards
Additional serving locations and times will be announced as they are identified.
