The Mary J. Ewing Scholarship, established in 1993, is given to recognize the unselfish dedication of Mary Ewing to the efforts of Team One Credit Union. Under her voluntary leadership, both as chairman of the board from 1946-1975 and as a director from 1975-1993, the credit union experienced sound, planned growth.
Miss Ewing began her teaching career in a rural, one-room school in Fayette County, Illinois. After moving to Saginaw, she taught fifth grade at North Elementary School and went on to become the first woman assistant principal at Saginaw High School.
Through this scholarship, students will benefit from Miss Ewing’s remarkable record of unselfish giving, her valuable insight and guidance as a leader of Team One Credit Union, and her passion for education.
