INITIATIVES

The Saginaw Community Foundation is involved in a variety of community initiatives, working to improve Saginaw County for everyone.

FORCE

The FORCE Youth Advisory Committee encourages local youth to get involved in solving problems in their community. This diverse group of youth, ages 13-18, are actively engaged in community service and grantmaking.

YOUTH FIRST

Youth First delivers dozens of existing youth development and recreation programs right to Saginaw County’s underserved youth. The programs help reinforce fundamentals learned in school by providing fun and creative learning experiences during non-school hours.

GIVING BACK TASK FORCE

The Giving Back Task Force, organized by the Saginaw Community Foundation and the United Way of Saginaw County, was created in the spring of 2002. Annually the task force coordinates two community service days, Spring Into Service and Make A Difference Day, that bring students and adult volunteers together from throughout the county to serve together on common projects.

Saginaw County Community Health Assessment

The Saginaw County Roadmap to Health outlines the goals and objectives related to the top health needs identified from the Community Health Needs Assessment data. This effort was funded by the members of the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) Steering Committee, including the two major hospital systems that serve Saginaw County residents, Ascension St. Mary’s and Covenant HealthCare.

ALIGNMENT SAGINAW

Alignment Saginaw, in partnership with Saginaw Community Foundation, has created the Saginaw County Report Card. Explore the report card and learn about our community, be inspired to improve community life for yourself and everyone, and invest socially, economically, and physically in our community.
