GIVING TOOLKIT
Designated Funds
Helping organizations sustain and growEstablishing a designated fund enables you to support the good work of a specific nonprofit organization. By working with the Saginaw Community Foundation, your gift provides more than just funding. The organization you select will benefit from SCF’s investment stewardship and ability to manage endowment funds.
After choosing an organization that you wish to benefit, you can choose to give cash, appreciated stocks, real estate or other assets. You’ll receive tax benefits in the year your gift is made and can add to the fund at any time. If the organization you select ceases to exist or changes in mission, the fund can be redirected so that it continues to address your charitable intent.
With your gift, SCF will set up a special fund in your name or in the name of the nonprofit organization you choose. Your fund will be endowed and earnings gained through investments will be used to make grants to the designated organization. The foundation handles all the administrative details, including managing specific qualifications that you may establish for grant disbursements and updating you about the impact the fund is making in the community.
