$11,502 raised to support SCF’s Heroes for Kids

It all came down to the final dance on the final night of the 2015 Swingshift and the Stars Dance-Off for Charity competition in Bay City back in May.

Jeremiah McLaurin and Sherri Green, dancers representing SCF’s Heroes for Kids fund, were tied after the judge’s and audience scores with Great Lakes Bay Autism Center dancers Daphine DeLoren and Mike Mclain. A dance-off was needed to break the tie. Jeremiah and Sherri scored a perfect “10” to win the season.

The event, similar in style to television’s “Dancing with the Stars”, features dance teams comprised of a professional dance instructor and a local “star.” The couples dance to a live 10-piece big band in front of five judges. Those in attendance also get a chance to vote by casting ballots for their favorite couple along with a contribution that will support the charity the dancers are competing for.

Jeremiah and Sherri scored 35.3/40 possible points during the four night competition and raised $11,502 for Heroes for Kids, a fund that helps provide summer recreation opportunities for kids in the City of Saginaw.

Congratulations Jeremiah and Sherri!
