Tom Mudd strongly believes that history is a key part of the future. He has become one of the leading crusaders for preserving Saginaw’s past for future generations.
That crusade led to the creation of the Saginaw Hall of Fame Bean Bunny Fund. That fund helps repair and maintain one of the most prominent symbols of Saginaw’s past — the giant
neon rabbit atop a bean elevator.
Since establishing that fund, Tom has helped save several other neon pieces of Saginaw’s history, creating a “sign park” in Old Saginaw City that continues to grow. It’s important work, he says. “We all need guidance. History provides a map for things we should consider as we go into the future.”
