The Theron & Marion Fager Team One Scholarship was established to honor the Fager’s for their dedication to education. The Fager’s were residents of Saginaw with strong ties and commitment to the community. Theron and Marion both attended Saginaw High School. Theron went to MSU where he played both basketball and baseball. Theron still holds a record for stolen bases at MSU. Theron was a teacher and coach at the former Central Junior High School for 40 years. He also spent 30 years as a respected basketball and football official. Marion went to business school in Saginaw and worked as a personal secretary at Westlund Child Guidance Clinic for 20 years. They were very active at the Germania Town and Country Club.
The Fager’s dedicated their lives to volunteerism. They were very involved in their church and Theron served as chairman of Team One Credit Union’s Board of Directors from 1971-1991.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Applicant must be a current member of Team One Credit Union
- Graduating high school senior
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree full-time at Michigan State University
- Must have lettered in a varsity sport in high school
