Dax Burk was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many during his short time with us. This scholarship is intended to honor his memory and legacy by supporting students in their pursuit of post-secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE).
Dax was a wholesome student, friend, and community member. He was most known for his genuine kindness and unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. Dax had a passion for hands on learning and his enthusiasm for learning skilled trades was infectious. Dax was a shining example of enthusiasm and determination necessary to achieve his educational goals at Hemlock High School and Saginaw Career Complex.
The Dax Burk Memorial Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to qualifying students who display characteristics that mirrored Dax’s spirit. This scholarship seeks to recognize and reward students who exhibit the following qualities:
- Academic Excellence: demonstrated commitment to academic achievement and a strong work ethic
- Resilience: determined to learn the job skills necessary to enter a technical career and trade-oriented education upon graduation
- Interest in Career and Technical Education: attend Saginaw Career Complex and have a strong passion for entering the skilled trades industry upon graduation
Qualifications
- Graduating high school senior from Hemlock High School
- Pursuing Career and Technical Education (CTE) training or an undergraduate degree in a skilled trade field
- Full- or part-time enrollment
- Financial need
