GIVING TOOLKIT
Field of Interest Fund
Connecting personal values to high-impact opportunitiesBy establishing a field of interest fund, you can target your gift to address needs in an important area of community life. The area you identify can be as broad or narrow as you wish.
While you direct the area of need the field of interest fund will serve, the maintenance is left up to us. Our program staff continually monitors changing community needs so that you can be sure grants made in the name of the fund make the most impact in your field of interest and create your personal legacy of giving. Your gift stays flexible enough to meet community needs in your interest area—even as they change over time.
To start your fund, you can make a bequest or give cash, appreciated stocks, real estate or other assets. The field of interest fund can be set up in your name, in the name of your family, or in honor of any person or organization you choose.
You’ll receive tax benefits in the year your gift is made and you can add to the field of interest fund you establish at any time – and so can others who share your interests in community. Your fund will be endowed at SCF, serving as a source of community capital. Earnings gained through investments will be used to make grants that address needs related to your field of interest fund in Saginaw County.
