Zachary Schmid and Amanda Jovanovich
When it comes to supporting community foundations for Zachary Schmid, it runs in the family. Schmid, a recent transplant to our region, hails from St. Clair, Mich. where his mother works for the Community Foundation of St. Clair County as a development director. “For the longest time I have heard from my mother about the importance of supporting the work community foundations do,” said Schmid. “Community foundations manage so many different things that the decision to support its day-to-day operations was an easy one.”
Being new to the region, Schmid, a professional advisor with EdwardJones in Saginaw, believes that getting involved with SCF will help put him in touch with his new community. Schmid also serves as a member of our Marketing and Asset Development Committee. “Both professionally and personally, becoming connected to SCF was important to me. I want to meet and work with the people making projects a reality here in Saginaw.”
Schmid and his wife Amanda Jovanovich have a passion for animals with two dogs and a cat at home. A dream the two share is to become involved in animal rescue and eventually operate their own shelter. “When the time is right, I know SCF will be a resource to look to for guidance and support.”
As a new donor and young professional, Schmid says to other young persons that they “should find something that they are passionate about and find a way to support that cause. There’s something for everyone at Saginaw Community Foundation.”
